The three-part PBS documentary Cancer: The Emperor of All Maladies, created by preeminent filmmaker Ken Burns based on a 2010 Pulitzer Prize-winning book, premieres March 30th. K-State’s Johnson Cancer Research Center and KTWU 11 PBS will host an advance screening event at 2-4 pm, on March 28th, in the Manhattan Public Library Auditorium. An informational fair featuring local cancer-related agencies and organizations will precede the hour-long preview of the documentary at 3:00 pm. This public event is free and refreshments will be provided.
MAPJ will host their Annual Meeting on Saturday, March 28th at the UUFM Building. Social time with cash bar begins at 5:30 pm; Potluck dinner at 6:00 pm; Business meeting at 7:00 pm; 730 presentation of The Fight for $15 and a Union: from KC to the National Movement.
