Funiture Amnesty Day @ City Park, Wilson Field

Birding with Dr. Ted Cable @ Tuttle Creek Lake

The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers at Tuttle Creek Lake invites the public to attend “Birding with Dr. Ted Cable” on Saturday, July 26th at 8:00 am.  Dr. Ted Cable, Kansas State University Professor of Park Management and Conservation, avid birder and author, will conduct the program.  Cable will be discussing local birds of Kansas while he leads a short walk down the Blue River Trail.  After the walk, he will have a book signing at Shelter #3 where he will have several of his birding and children’s books available for purchase.  All are encouraged to bring a pair of binoculars and a good pair of walking shoes for the trail.  Participants should meet at shelter #3 in Outlet Park for a short walk down the Blue River Trail.  The program is free, and no vehicle permits are required.  All ages are invited to attend.  For further information on this program please contact the Corps of Engineers Office at 5020Tuttle  Creek Blvd or call 785-539-8511.

5th Grade Manhattan Indians @ Northview Elementary

The 5th Grade Manhattan Indians are looking for players for the 2014 youth tackle football season.  Open Practice/Tryouts will be held on Saturday, July 26th from 9:00 to 11:00 am in the open field just to the east of the Northview Elementary.  No experience necessary.  Boys should wear shorts and tennis shoes (or cleats) for this practice.  For questions please contact Coach Akin jakin73@yahoo.com.

Matt and Gabby Rebuild Fund @ Energy Center

On July 12th, a fire took the home and all its possessions from a member of the Energy Center family of technicians.
