Book Group and VIP Meeting @ Riley County Senior Center

The Manhattan Book Group and VIP (Visually Impaired Persons) Support Group will meet on Tuesday, August 19, at the Riley County Senior Center, corner of Fourth & Leavenworth Streets.

The Book Group will meet at 1:00.
We will be choosing titles for the upcoming year.  We welcome suggestions!

The VIP Group will meet at 2:00 following the Book discussion.  Our speaker will be Jane Kelsey.  The topic will be “The Joy of Cooking With Low Vision”.  Come join us for this meeting and learn some of the tips Jane uses in her kitchen.  She may even surprise us with a tasty treat!  For more information, please contact Kathy 539-1973.

Volunteers for Cattle Barons Ball @ Copeland Ranch

Volunteers needed for the Cattle Baron’s Ball on August 23rd at Copeland Ranch.  Contribute your time toward success of this American Cancer Society fundraiser where proceeds go to aid families in their fight against cancer and cancer research.  Volunteers are needed as parking attendants, assist bar staff (must be 21 years old), help with hospitality such as checking tables and guests, serving when and where needed and offer assistance to guests throughout the event.  Volunteers are needed 5:15 – 11:30 pm with two shifts for parking attendants.  Contact: Hope James hjames@ksu.edu or 785-447-0677.
