The Junction City Arts Council will hold its annual Winter Gallery Walk on Friday, December 16th from 5-7 pm in downtown Junction City. Up to fifteen merchants in the 100 and 200 blocks of W Seventh Street and the 600 to 900 blocks on N Washington will host regional artists and their artwork and offer wine, coffee, and or cider and hors d’oeruvres to the public as they visit each “gallery” location. Gallery maps will be available at the Opera House at 135 W Seventh. Then tour downtown merchants, meet the artists, enjoy their work, and find the perfect handmade quilt. Santa will also be there to hear your holiday wishes. The Kansas Veterans’ Cemetery at Fort Riley-Manhattan will again participate in the annual Wreaths Across America program with a ceremony on Saturday, December 17th at 11:00 am.
The American Red Cross will have a blood drive on Monday, December 19th at the Wamego High School from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Donors of all blood types are needed this holiday season to help ensure a sufficient supply for hospital patients.
