The next meeting of the Pawnee Mental Health Services’ Board of Directors will be on Tuesday, October 25th, at 4:00 pm, in the Conference Room of Pawnee’s Clay Center office. The meeting is open to the public.
USDA Commodities drive-thru distribution will be Wednesday, October 26th, at 4:00 pm at the Flint Hills Breadbasket. Product will be given out, until gone. This is available for all income eligible Riley County Residents. All commodities are first come first serve. Product available includes: Corn, Vegetable Soup, Mixed Fruit, Raisins, Canned Salmon, Peanut Butter, Cranberry Juice, Great Northern Beans, and Whole Grain Spaghetti.
The Riley County Health Department will be hosting their 5th annual Okt-FLU-ber Fest on Thursday, October 27th. Join in for a family friend and fun flu shot clinic! There will be numerous activities for the kids, including receiving a free pumpkin with a flu shot. Community partners will be there to help with the festivities and provide fun games, free books and yummy food samples. Emergency vehicles as well as Fred the Preparedness Dog the Bee Wise Bee will be there to interact with the community. Join in the celebration of fall and staying healthy for flu season!
Mark your calendar and plan to attend the Annual Soup Supper on Thursday, October 27th starting at 5:30 pm. Taste a variety of delicious soups donated by local restaurants. Bread and dessert will also be served. The Manhattan High School POPS Choir will entertain at 6:00 pm. Tickets for the Soup Supper are $7 in advance and $8 at the door. Tickets go on sale on Monday, October 3rd.
Join the OFH Board for a delicious breakfast of Biscuits & Gravy on Saturday, October 29th from 7:30 am to 12:30 pm at the College Avenue UMC. Adults: $6.00; Children (4-12): $3.00. All proceeds benefit Ogden Friendship House. Ogden Friendship House is a ministry of the United Methodist Church to, with, and for the community of Ogden. Ministries include food, clothing, and after-school programs.
