On Sunday, April 17th, at 2:00 pm the Riley County Genealogical Society (RCGS) is sponsoring a free educational program on the History of Ireland. Colin Noble will be talking about his native country of Ireland. Location will be at Manhattan Public Library Auditorium. Originally from Ireland, Colin came to America in 1991 and founded Noble Hospitality, a hotel management company of which he is owner and President. Colin has founded and operated businesses around the world as well as his native Northern Ireland. The City of Junction City, CLEAN Team is celebrating Earth Day by hosting their 8th annual “Operation Clean Sweep”. Operation Clean Sweep is a city clean up scheduled for Saturday, April 23rd from 8:00 am to noon. Volunteers are needed for this event. To volunteer please report to Spin City, 915 South Washington at 8:00 am. Lunch will be provided at 11:30 am. Bring gloves and drinking water.

OK Kids Day at the Range will be held on Saturday, April 30th from 9:00 am to 2:45 pm. This instructional shooting clinic provides kids with a safe, comfortable environment for learning about: BB Guns; .22 Rifles; Black Powder Rifles and Archery. The cost is $10 per participant. Cost includes lunch, eye and ear protection, use of loaner equipment, ammunition, and personal instructors, Range Safety Officers, and outstanding volunteers. For boys and girls ages 8 – 15. Shooters of all levels are welcome. Fancy Creek Range is located approximately 1/2 mile east of US 77 and 1/2 mile north of the junction of Gardiner Rd and K16 on county road 893 near Randolph, KS.
