Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge @ Pottorf Hall CiCo Park

Are you a high schooler living in Riley County that has an idea for a new product or service? Do you have a concept that could lead to a future business?  Youth entrepreneurs are invited to participate as individuals or in teams to compete in the 2017 Riley County Youth Entrepreneur Fair on Wednesday, March 14th, 9:30-Noon at Pottorf Hall in CiCo Park.  Top products, concepts, and ideas will be awarded CASH PRIZES for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers based on: Business Plan; Two-minute Elevator Speech; 5-6 Minute Tradeshow Presentation.  Contact John Jobe or Jennifer Wilson at the Riley County Extension Office for further details about this amazing opportunity.  110 Courthouse Plaza, Room B220 – 785-537-6350.

St. Patricks’s Day Road Races @ Aggieville

The 39th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Road Races 10K, 2 Mile Run and 2 Mile Walk will be held on Saturday, March 18th, beginning at 10:00 am.  The 2 mile will kick off the festivities followed by the 10k at 10:45.  The parade will once again follow all the races.  This year all the 10k finishers will receive a St. Patrick’s Day Finisher Medal.  For more information go to http://manhattanrunningco.com/st-patricks-day-road-races-10k-2-mile-run-and-2-mile-walk/

3rd Annual Wildcat Warrior 5K @ Gen Richard B Myers Hall

The 3rd Annual Wildcat Warrior 5K will be held on Saturday, April 22nd at the General Richard B Myers Hall, Kansas State University.  Registration: 8:00 am.  5K Start: 9:00 am. Fun Run Start: 10:00 am.  $30 – 5K/ghost Runners; $25 — Per Team Participant (4 runners per team); $15 — Fun Run (1 Mile).  For more information go to http://manhattanrunnigco.com/event/wildcat-warrior-5k-2/.  Register by April 1st to be guaranteed a t-shirt.  All proceeds from the Wildcat Warrior 5K will go to improving the William Grimm Memorial.

2017 Sunflower State Games

The 28th annual Sunflower State Games will be held July 14th – 30th.  The Sunflower State Games is Kansas’ largest amateur sports festival.  With over 45 different events there is something for people of all ages and skill levels.  In 2017 they will be adding Cornhole (Bags) and Drone Racing to the list of events.  Registration for the Sunflower State Games opens on March 1st, deadlines to register vary for each sport.  Complete event information and registration procedures can be found at www.sunflowergames.com.
