Chester Sexton

A 58-year-old man convicted of aggravated indecent liberties and solicitation of a child in Pottawatomie County 20 years ago has been discharged from the Kansas Department of Corrections. Chester Sexton was discharged September 24th with the expiration of his sentence.
Sexton was convicted of the two indecent liberties charges in connection with cases that occurred in 1992 and 1993. He was sentenced in 1996. He was held in El Dorado since July of 2013.

Oliver Smith

A Kansas Department of Corrections inmate serving time for first degree murder and rape convictions in Geary County has apparently been passed over for parole.  Oliver Smith, 53, was convicted in connection with 1986 cases–then sentenced in 1989.
Public comment sessions were held in July but Smith’s earliest possible release date has just been listed as September of 2017. Smith is currently being held in Hutchinson.
