The first wave of nominations for this year's Teen Choice Awards has arrived, and most of today's biggest music stars have received nominations.
In the Choice Male Artist category, veterans like Justin Timberlake and Pharrell Williams will battle it out with relative newcomers Austin Mahone and Ed Sheeran, with Jason Derulo and Pitbull thrown in for good measure. On the female side, it's Beyonce, Katy Perry and Taylor Swift, up against Miley Cyrus, Lorde and Ariana Grande.
Iggy Azalea, who most people had never heard of six months ago, scored a nomination for Choice R&B/Hip-Hop Artist, where she'll compete against John Legend, Nicki Minaj, Eminem and Justin Timberlake. On the group side, Rixton, Paramore, OneRepublic, Imagine Dragons, Coldplay, One Direction and 5 Seconds of Summer all received nominations.
Music stars also dominate the Fashion categories. All the nominees in the Choice Smile category are artists: Selena Gomez and her pals Taylor Swift and Demi Lovato, plus Taylor's ex, Harry Styles, and Austin Mahone. Beyonce, Selena, Ariana and Rihanna are up for Choice Female Hottie, while One Direction and Austin Mahone received nominations for Choice Male Hottie.
The 2014 Teen Choice Awards air live on Fox August 10. Fans ages 13-19 can start voting once each day per category for their favorite nominees at Teenchoiceawards.com.
