Reading saved the day on Saturday, as the Real Hereos of Manahttan swung into the Manhattan Public Library to promote literacy.

Event organizer, Emily Stolfus said she was expecting nearly 200 kids to take part in the event known as Reading is Power.
The fun filled afternoon featured a photo booth, crafts, theatrical activities and a reading room filled with Manhattan heroes.
Stolfus says that Mortar Board, K-State’s Senior Honor Society came together to locate a group of Manhattan’s finest to put on a cape and take up the role of superhero – reading books to kiddos in need of a good story.

Previously  hosted on the K-State campus, Reading is Power has become an annual event. A goal in organizing this years celebration of reading, Stolfus and Mortar Board wanted to bring the event out into the community.
