Prominent Manhattan resident John Carlin has passed away due to illness. Carlin was married to State Representative Sydney Carlin. Carlin was a long-time Manhattan resident and was very involved in the community. Carlin had numerous careers as a successful businessman, was an Army veteran and a former Catholic Priest.
Carlin, who died early Friday, had degrees from both Notre Dame and Kansas State University. He had been married to Representative Carlin for more than 40 years and they had four children and at least 12 grandchildren. He’s remembered for his sense of humor, generosity, and passion for the Fighting Irish.
Funeral services are pending.
