Manhattan Parks and Rec will host a public meeting March 10th, 5:00 to 7:00 pm, to move the development of a master plan for the new park at Lee Mill Heights forward. The master plan is being developed in partnership with the National Park Service. An interactive kick-off meeting was held with a follow-up online survey. The MHS Advanced Drama Classes and MHS Thespians would like to invite you to a 90 minute show at MHS, 7:00 pm, Thursday night, March 10th. The evening is a talent show of monologues, duet scenes, songs, instrumental and dance numbers from Broadway and Off-Broadway selections that allow students to learn about their abilities as performers on the Rezac Stage. Admission is strictly free will! If you can’t make it drop by the final Dress Rehearsal, Wednesday, from 3-5 pm.
The United States Army Field Band, Clarinet Trio will be presenting a free public performance at the Kansas State University-Manhattan Clinic room in Manhattan at 11:30 am, Tuesday, March 22nd. Members of the band are available for interviews leading up to and following their concerts. The soldiers can talk about being “Musical Ambassadors of the Army” and performing for schools and communities.
Boy Scout Troop 74 will have a Pancake Feed on Saturday, April 2nd from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. They will be serving all you can eat pancakes, sausage, coffee and orange drink. Adults: $5.00; Children (6 and under): $2.00. This event will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, 8th and Leavenworth.
