As dry conditions continue, conditions at Tuttle Creek Reservoir are improving.

As of Thursday afternoon, the lake level was slightly over 1,125 feet, with outflow increasing from 22,000 cubic feet per second up to 25,000 cfs. The three-day forecast shows that level dropping to 1,122.31. As the water level comes down, the Big Blue River continues to rise. Inflow into the lake is at 6,700 cfs. The gage at Waverly, Missouri is at 161,000 cfs currently with a threshold of 180,000 cfs. Waverly is the target location for releases on Tuttle Creek Lake.

The National Weather Service in Topeka Thursday issued a Flood Warning for the Big Blue River near Manhattan until further notice after the river went above the 19 foot flood stage. As a result, minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is also forecast for the river. The river was expected to rise to near 19.4 feet by Thursday evening. Additional rises may be possible thereafter.

Just slight chances for rain exist Saturday evening into Sunday evening. Otherwise, conditions will remain favorable for further releases from Tuttle Creek Lake.
