John Dolmayan Reaffirms Support for Trump Amid System of a Down’s Internal Political Diversity

John Dolmayan, drummer for the renowned rock band System of a Down, has once again voiced his support for former President Donald Trump, highlighting the contrasting political views within the band. In a recent interview with Australian YouTuber Lilian Tahmasian, Dolmayan expressed his belief in the importance of law and order and criticized the prevailing “woke” culture.

System of a Down is known for its progressive political stance, often addressing issues such as police brutality, healthcare privatization, and military interventions in their music. Dolmayan’s support for Trump stands in contrast to the views of his bandmates, particularly lead vocalist Serj Tankian, who has been openly critical of the former president. Despite these differences, Dolmayan emphasizes the importance of listening to differing opinions and maintains that these contrasting views do not hinder their musical collaboration.

Dolmayan acknowledges that his political stance has led to the loss of friends, followers, and financial opportunities. However, he remains steadfast in his beliefs, stating that he is unafraid to express his support for Trump, even against the advice of his bandmates, manager, and wife. He also feels that conservatives are being unfairly victimized by news agencies and social media platforms that promote a singular thought process.

Regarding the possibility of new music from System of a Down, Dolmayan expressed skepticism, citing internal disagreements and drama within the band. Despite their popularity and successful performances, these internal issues have made the prospect of a new album unlikely in the near future.

John Dolmayan’s unwavering support for Donald Trump highlights the diverse political perspectives within System of a Down. While these differences present challenges, they also underscore the band’s commitment to individual expression and the complexity inherent in creative collaborations.
