MANHATTAN — The Manhattan Fire Department responded just after midnight Thursday to a shed on fire in the Northview neighborhood.

Firefighters arrived to find the 10-foot-by-10-foot shed in the 2100 block of Mike Place fully engulfed. Fire spread to the adjacent mobile homes. The shed fire was contained within five minutes, although crews had to remove siding and skirting from both mobile homes to ensure it was extinguished. Both homes were occupied at the time of the fire with no injuries reported. A pet rabbit died in the shed fire.

The fire damaged the shed and both mobile homes. Loss is estimated at $2,000 to the shed and contents, $5,000 to the exterior of the mobile home at 2112 Mike Place and $100 to the mobile home skirting at 404 Sherry Place. The cause of the fire is undetermined.

The owner of 2112 Mike PL is listed as Tonja Wright of the same address.

MANHATTAN — The Manhattan Fire Department responded around midnight to a shed on fire in the Northview area.

Firefighters arrived to find the shed in the 2100 block of Mike Place fully engulfed. A lot of smoke was prevalent in the area and some of the fire actually spread to the nearby mobile home causing minimal damage. Power was shut down to the neighborhood for a short period.

There were no reports of injuries associated with the fire. A damage estimate is pending.
