A multi-vehicle crash near Junction City Friday morning has shut down a portion of Interstate 70.

Kansas Highway Patrol Trooper Ben Gardner says the crash, reported around 8 a.m. may involve as many 10 different vehicles. As a result emergency crews have shutdown the eastbound lanes of I-70. The crash was first reported as a non-injury crash. The closure impacts the eastbound lanes near mile marker 298. Traffic is being detoured at exits 296 and 298.

Information is still developing but motorists are encouraged to avoid the area.
