RCPD Report 1/10/19

Officers filed a report for attempted aggravated burglary, attempted aggravated robbery and criminal damage to property in the 4000 block of Spook Rock Way in Manhattan on January 9, 2019 at approximately 7:00 PM. Officers listed The Links at Manhattan, Deshaun Durham, 18, and Jesup McClelland, 18, both of Manhattan as the victims when it was reported two unknown male suspects damaged the door while entering the residence without permission. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $500.00.  Police ask that anyone with information contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.00.

Officers filed a report for a theft in the 400 block of Brookridge Dr. in Manhattan on January 9, 2019 at approximately 5:15 AM. Officers listed Jonathan Cole, 33, of Manhattan as the victim when an unknown suspect stole his 1998 Honda Civic.  The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $900.00. The vehicle was later located.

Jason Simonds, 45, of Manhattan was arrested while at the Riley County Police Department on January 9, 2019, at approximately 9:25 AM. Simonds was arrested on a Riley County District Court warrant for probation violation.  Simonds was issued a total bond of $10,000.00. Simonds was still confined at the time of this report.

Michelle Merkle, 38, of Manhattan was arrested in the 800 block of Colorado in Manhattan at approximately 8:45 AM. Merkle was arrested on two Riley County District Court warrants for probation violation.  Merkle was issued a total bond of $10,000.00.  Merkle was still confined at the time of this report.
