The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police.  Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further.  Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

MANHATTAN, KAN. –

Officers filed a report for burglary in the 500 block of Denison Avenue on January 2, 2020, at approximately 6:50 AM. Officers listed a 35-year-old male as the victim when he reported an unknown suspect took a custom-built computer tower and clothing from his residence. The estimated total loss is unknown but is estimated to be over $3,000.00. Police ask that anyone with information please contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Officers filed a report for aggravated assault and possession of marijuana in Manhattan on January 2, 2020, at approximately 8:25 AM. Officers listed a 55-year-old male as the victim when he reported a known female suspect attempted to hit him with a bat. Due to the nature of the crime reported (domestic), no additional information will be released.

Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property in the 900 block of Anneberg Park in Manhattan on January 2, 2020, at approximately 10:50 AM. Officers listed the City of Manhattan as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect damaged the parking lot with their vehicle. The estimated total loss associated with this case is between $1,200.00-$2,000.00. Police ask that anyone with information please contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.
