The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police.  Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further.  Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

MANHATTAN, KAN. –

Officers filed a report for vehicle burglary and criminal damage to property in the 2700 block of Amherst Avenue in Manhattan on January 3, 2020, at approximately 9:35 AM. Officers listed a 69-year-old male as the victim when he reported an unknown suspect damaged his camper and took a TV. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $6,000.00. Police ask that anyone with information please contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Officers filed a report for theft in the 1100 block of Westloop Pl. in Manhattan on January 3, 2020, at approximately 8:25 PM. Officers listed 49-year-old female as the victim when she reported a known female suspect took her iPhone 11. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $1,000.00. The phone was later recovered.

Officers filed a report for aggravated assault in Manhattan on January 4, 2020, at approximately 1:20 PM. Officers listed a 24-year-old male as the victim and a known 25-year-old female as the suspect. Due to the nature of the crime reported (domestic), no additional information will be released.

Officers filed a report for burglary and theft of a motor vehicle in the 6400 block of White’s Road in Manhattan on January 4, 2020, at approximately 10:05 AM. Officers listed Colonial Gardens as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect took a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado and tools. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $6,740.00. Officers filed a report for theft in the 2000 block of Tecumseh Road in Manhattan on January 5, 2020, at approximately 5:15 PM. Officers listed an 18-year-old male as the victim when he reported an unknown suspect took his Black Benneli Shotgun, case, and a Playstation 4 controller. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $520.00. Police ask that anyone with information please contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.
