The pandemic has had one positive, at least for some people, as it inspired them to take an online course to learn a new skill.

A learning platform called Shaw Academy is reporting a 582 percent bump in registration for online courses over the last 12 months.

“Lockdown has given many people the gift of time,” a spokesperson for Shaw Academy said to the Daily Mirror. “Something we often struggled to have enough of previously. There has never been a better time to learn more about a hobby you’ve never quite been able to really get into or learn a new skill altogether.”

The top 10 most popular online courses were:

  1. Photography
  2. Graphic Design
  3. Nutrition
  4. Social Media
  5. Marketing
  6. Project management
  7. Leadership
  8. Sports nutrition
  9. Beauty
  10. Excel

Other popular courses included cooking and baking classes (15th), dog care was 32nd. Tarot reading was the 50th most popular course. Always did want to get into that.

Personally, we’ve been watching YouTube videos on how to do that card trick from WandaVision.
