Riley County Health Department hosting Easter Egg Hunt

Riley County Health Department hosting Easter Egg Hunt

The Riley County Health Department is helping the Easter Bunny this year by hosting an Easter Egg Hunt & Open House this Saturday morning (April 1st) from 9-11am at the Family and Child Resource Center in Manhattan. Kids 10 and under can hunt for 800 eggs, while older kids and adults can visit the Open House booths to learn more about all the great services provided by the Health Department.

“We have 800 eggs and even more candy ready to go for Saturday,” said Skylar German, Public Health Emergency Preparedness Coordinator for Riley County. “A lot of people learned about the health department during COVID-19, but they don’t necessarily know about all the other services we provide. Having a fun event is a great way to connect with people in the community and share resources.”

Booths will be set up on the sidewalk in front of the Family and Child Resource Center 2101 Claflin Road.

The egg hunt will take place on the grass on the north side of the building, near Claflin Road.

“We offer reading nights, program scholarships, car seat checks, health clinic services, immunizations and disease testing, and so much more,” said German. “There are so many programs available to the community and we’re excited to meet some new people at this event.”

The Riley County Health Department has served Riley County for over 50 years. The health department workforce of more than 40 employees includes nurses, social workers, dietitians, support staff, and administration.
