The Federal Bureau of Investigations wants you to think twice before plugging your phone into any public charging stations.
In a Tweet sent out last week, the FBI Denver office said that ‘bad actors have figured out ways to use public USB ports to introduce malware and monitoring software onto your devices.’

That’s disconcerting. Though, the Feds haven’t specified any actual cases where this happened, so this might just be a general, ‘Hey, it could happen,’ type thing. Or we could all be infected right now.
If that’s the case, by the way, hackers, please don’t judge my search history.
Anyway, the FBI says that you should always use your own charger and cord, just to be on the safe side.
Seriously, don’t judge it.
