This is a bit upsetting, really.

Food & Wine magazine decided to rank the states based on their pizza, releasing the top 10 only.

No, Kansas isn’t on here. WE INVENTED PIZZA HUT, FOOD & WINE, THAT SHOULD LEAVE US PERPETUALLY IN THE TOP 10!!!

*Ahem*

The number one state, according to whomever decides this stuff, is New Jersey. Not New York, not Chicago. New Freaking Jersey.

I’m torn here, because I’m okay with Chicago not being recognized for calling lasagna pizza, but it’s also New Jersey and it doesn’t deserve any praise.

Kidding. About the New Jersey part. Chicago-style pizza is just lasagna and no one can convince me otherwise.

Here’s the top 10:

  1. New Jersey
  2. Connecticut
  3. New York
  4. Illinois
  5. Michigan
  6. California
  7. Pennsylvania
  8. Massachusetts
  9. Ohio
  10. Missouri (WAIT…WHAT?!?! KANSAS DOESN’T MAKE IT BUT MISSOURI DOES! FAKE. LIST. FOOD & WINE.)

They also named the best pizza spot in every other state, as well, which you can find just below the top ten, or by visiting this link!

For Kansas, they do bring up the fact that Pizza Hut originated in Wichita, but the one they pick is 1889 Pizza in Kansas City. Never had it, but my KC friends rave about it.
